Mortals

Standard

Flashing blurry faces
one, two, and three
Tiptoed, scurried paces
thinking that we’re free

Street lights are fading
down a flashing sea
Paranoia raiding
so we can’t believe

Betting like horses on
humans of the streets
Weighing down moments
counting to sixty

Birthday cake candles
flicker eternity
Blown out a lifetime
pursuing sanity

Mumble, bumble, jumble
like a busy bee
Set ourselves on fire
just so we can breath

Reformation

Standard

Amid
Surfacing chaos
I seek for myself
A happy place
I can go to
Somewhere safe
Refuge

Along
Rushing rivers
I seek
Zeal and zen
To keep me
Unstoppable
Just going and
Flowing

Among
Bustling crowds
I believe
One of these days
I will find my faith
Restored
In something
Or someone
Somehow

Because
With every passing minute
The pace
Gets quicker

Because
With every passing hour
The struggle
Becomes tougher

Because
With every passing day
Reality
Strikes harder

Unveiled

Standard

The escape
Tis fake
To be free
(You may see)
From what?
Tis but
An illusion
Mere confusion
Phantom contusion
Fucked up delusion
(You may scream)
Made up dream
Far from reality
So why?
(You may sigh)
Alas!
Inability to grasp
The bitter truth;
Hard, tough, and crude
Even though
(You may know)
We seek it not
We give thought
To glistening lies
From charming spies
In alluring disguise
Oh Hell!
(You may yell)
We fell
Ourselves
Victims of fate
(You may place)
No one
To defame
No one
To blame
But your own name
Such a bloody shame
(You lost the game)
