Blossom

Standard

I sat there, in the puddle
Covered in mud, drenched in rain
Thoughts merging in a muddle
Chasing after my mind, again

The silver lining of my cloud
Nothing went in vain
Hush! Daren’t say aloud
Catching at a straw, again?

“Get up, child! What a fool.”
My strong heart doesn’t strain
A daffodil in a swampy pool
Ah! I’d do it all over again

Muddy hand, bloody knee
Feeling worth of the pain
Defy logic, don’t agree
I sat there and smiled, again
